Common Mode Voltage Mitigation Techniques In Electric Vehicle Neutral-point Clamped Inverter Fed PMSM Drive System
Electric vehicles (EV) are gaining popularity due many reasons like environmental concerns, scarcity of Fossil Fuels, Fuel Cost, and availability of Renewable Energy Sources etc. The Electric Drive is constituted by a Power Converter and an Electric Machine, such machines suffer from Common Mode Voltage (CMV) effects. CMV is the zero-sequence voltage generated due to the switching action of power converters. The CMV introduces leakage currents through the bearings, leading to premature failures and reducing the propulsion system life cycles. As future EV power converters will rely on wide bandgap semiconductors with high switching frequency operation, CMV problems will become more prevalent. CMV reduction methods involves inclusion of dedicated filters and the implementation of specific modulation techniques. Majority of power converters for CMV mitigation are single-phase topologies intended for photovoltaic applications. Solutions in the form of three-phase topologies that could be applied to EVs are very limited. This work deals with dealing the issues related to CMV and to optimise the solution for the same from EV drive and inverter perspective.

Admission Procedure
ELIGIBILITY
FULL TIME PHD
Applicants holding a Master’s degree are eligible to apply for admission. Examples of Master’s degree include: ME, M. Tech., M. Sc., MCA, MS by Research and MPhil
applicants are expected to have strong academic records.
PART TIME PHD
Applicants who have a full-time appointment at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham or at another academic/ R&D organization are eligible to apply for part-time admission. Other eligibility requirements of such applicants are same as full time applicants. Part Time students are permitted to proceed at a slower pace in completing their doctoral requirements.
INTEGRATED PHD
Exceptional students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at Amrita will be allowed to apply for the Integrated Ph.D. program subject to the requirement that he or she completes all the requirements of the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree prior to ‘advancement to candidacy’
DUAL DEGREE PHD
Exceptional students who satisfy the eligibility requirements of Amrita and that of Amrita’s International Partner University (IPU), as stated in the Dual PhD. MoU signed between Amrita and the IPU, are eligible for admission to the Dual PhD program.
